How it works

Dedicated hardware, cloud provisioning

Traditional dedicated servers take hours or days to provision. You contact sales, wait for a rack slot, and someone manually installs your OS. Bare metal cloud eliminates that process entirely.

Our provisioning system maintains a pool of pre-staged hardware in every region. When you make an API call, it assigns a machine, flashes the BIOS to your specification, writes the OS to disk via PXE, configures networking, and hands you root access — all automated, typically in under 10 minutes.

The hardware is yours exclusively for as long as you need it. No hypervisor overhead, no shared CPU cycles, no noisy neighbors. When you're done, deprovision via API and stop paying.

Full out-of-band management

Every bare metal server includes IPMI access over a dedicated management network. This gives you a hardware-level remote console that works even when the OS isn't booting — useful for BIOS configuration, debugging kernel panics, or mounting rescue ISOs.

From the IPMI console you can power cycle the machine, adjust fan curves, monitor hardware sensors (CPU temperature, voltage rails, drive health), and view POST output. It's the same interface your on-site technician would use standing in front of the rack.

Single-tenant. No hypervisor. Your hardware.

Provisioning

API-driven provisioning

Provision bare metal through the same REST API you use for VPS. The CLI, Terraform provider, and SDKs all support bare metal as a first-class resource type.

A single API call specifies the configuration, region, OS, SSH keys, and optional RAID layout. The system assigns a machine from the pre-staged pool, runs the provisioning pipeline, and returns the server details when it's ready — usually within 5 to 10 minutes.

Custom configurations (non-standard RAM amounts, specific drive layouts, add-on NICs) are available with a 24-hour lead time. These are staged by our on-site technicians and then enter the automated pipeline.

Storage

Storage and RAID

All bare metal configurations include NVMe drives with hardware RAID controllers and battery-backed write cache.

Hardware RAID is configured during provisioning based on your specification. The RAID controller includes a battery-backed write cache (BBU) that protects in-flight writes during power loss — data is flushed to disk when power returns.

Drive bays are hot-swappable. If a drive fails, our on-site technicians can replace it without powering down the server. The RAID controller rebuilds the array automatically. Drive health is monitored via SMART data and our internal monitoring system — we often detect failing drives before they cause data loss.

Networking

Dedicated 10 Gbps networking

Every bare metal server connects to our network via a dedicated 10 Gbps port — not shared, not oversubscribed. Bandwidth is metered with generous transfer allowances included in the monthly price.

Bare metal servers can be attached to the same private networks as your VPS instances. This means you can build architectures where a bare metal database server communicates with VPS application servers over an isolated VLAN with no bandwidth charges.

Each server receives a public IPv4 address, a /64 IPv6 block, and full reverse DNS control. Additional IPv4 addresses are available for multi-homing or running multiple services.
